Paul has been with Rachlin Partners since 2004 and serves as both Designer and Project Manager on medical and educational projects. He competently follows each of his designs into the Construction Documents phase and through Construction itself, ensuring maximum client satisfaction when the ribbon is cut.

Along with his creativity, education, and experience it is this thoroughness and attention to detail that have built Paul’s stellar reputation with clients, building owners, construction managers, and contractors.

Prior to Rachlin, Paul worked for five years in the Detroit area, where he apprenticed with Wilkie Zanley Architects and gained exposure to and experience in municipal and religious facilities.

Education

Paul’s desire to attend a university that emphasized both the creative and technical aspects of architecture led him to Lawrence Technological University (LTU), where he entered their dual degree program. LTU’s Bachelors of Science in Architecture instilled the idea of theory coupled with practice, taking abstract ideas into the real world to solve any problem.

LTU also allowed Paul to nurture his love for art through their Bachelor of Fine Arts in Architectural Illustration course. His studies enabled him to render in multiple media, including varying paints, charcoal, ink and airbrush. Paul’s ambition empowered him to accomplish both degrees in only five years.

The following year, he advanced his studies at the University of Michigan, where he obtained a Masters in Architecture in 2002 with an emphasis on structural design and materials. The structural aspect compelled him to stay grounded in details and feasibility, while the high-design theories of the studios led to a creative synthesis of all information gathered into a meaningful and expressive design solution for the enrichment of the human experience.

Personal

The Travel Bug is an affliction Paul is clearly happy to live with, most recently adding stamps to his thoroughly travel-worn passport in Spain, Croatia, Bosnia and Montenegro. His key to enjoying life is simply to Keep Moving! Swimming, tennis, hockey or rollerblading, Paul is up for anything – just don’t mess with him when it comes to football, he’s a Wolverine through and through!
